Evaporative Cooling Media
CFW distributes Hutek CeLPads for your fan and pad system. Hutek has a long experience with evaporative cooling systems and their products are widely used. CeLPads can be installed using the PadPlus frame. See www.evapcool.co.za for more information about our cooling media products.
This range of cooling media is used in wetwalls, swamp coolers and similar equipment. Not all evaporative pads are alike. The life, required maintenance and efficiency of the media are affected by their design and can influence the cost of operating your cooling system.
CeLPad products feature
- Large surface areas for maximum efficiency
- Durable chemically treated cellulose for a longer lifetime
- Robust performance in imperfect conditions when properly maintained
- A carefully designed flute angle which acts to flush away minerals, dust and algae which could otherwise cause clogging
Two popular models of CeLPads are available:
- CeLPad 0760: Created to minimize pressure drop from the product. Can be used in applications with a high air face velocity.
- CeLPad 0790: Maximizes evaporation by ensuring a longer air/water contact time. Best suited to applications with moderate air face velocities such as greenhouses and poultry farms.
CeLPad “Black+”
These CeLPads incorporate several enhancements for applications where harsh conditions require more maintenance and cleaning. The coating material includes a special anti-friction modifier and the pad is especially durable and easy to clean. CeLPad “Black+” lasts, maintaining its optimum efficiency for longer.
CeLPad “S” (0590)
This CeLPad model is designed for applications where space requirements are strict. Its extra-high evaporation surface design makes it four times as efficient in promoting evaporation as other CeLPad models occupying the same amount of space. It is the CeLPad of choice for high-performance portable cooling units.
GLasPad (0760 & 0790)
GLasPad is designed for high-end applications requiring humidification where air face velocity may be high. Its glass fibre material offers the following advantages:
- Excellent water absorption characteristics maintain evaporative cooling and humidification
- Non-combustible (according to EURO Class A2, S2, D0 based on EN ISO1182 and EN 13823 (SBI)) and fire resistant, ensuring compliance with industrial and building codes.
- Class 1 filter (according to UL-900)
- Suitable for use in pre-coolers for gas turbines and where the air needs humidifying after passing through air handling and heater units
- Eliminates the need for water treatment and the risk of over-saturation
- Easy to maintain
- Hygienic and safe
The following models are available:
- GLasPad 0760: Created to minimize pressure drop from the product. Can be used in applications with a high air face velocity.
- GLasPad 0790: Maximizes evaporation by ensuring a longer air/water contact time.
PadPlus
PadPlus is a complete frame system for high-efficiency evaporative cooling and is designed to complement CeLPad products. PadPlus has the following attractive characteristics:
- Durable construction from high-quality PVC treated for UV resistance ensures a long working life even in harsh environments.
- Easy to install: the product’s light snap-on components mean that installation can be done without special technical skills.
- Easy disassembly and reassembly for maintenance and cleaning.
- Low cost: PadPlus is competitively priced so that your cooling system can be put into operation quickly and easily.
