Hygiene-Critical Operating Environments

Climate control is a key factor in preventing the spread of disease and mould. Where large amounts of water are involved, few people would store sensitive materials in the area. However, the evaporated water involved can still cause discomfort as well as hygiene and maintenance problems. To ensure that equipment continues to operate and the area is safe for people, it is necessary to consider ambient temperature and humidity levels, two variables which are never independent.

Indoor swimming pools and sewage facilities, among others, are intrinsically high-moisture environments. However, ensuring that this moisture stays where it is meant to is critical to prevent maintenance problems as well as to make them suitable for human occupancy.

Clean rooms, while they may not contain as much moisture, still require special attention to climate control in order to establish suitable working conditions for people.
